Who Are We?

Who is the group of people that meets at the corner of Buffalo and Bledsoe Streets in Gilmer, TX and calls themselves a “Church of Christ?”

Well, we are a group of sinful, broken people whose lives have been changed by the love and grace of Jesus Christ and the GOOD NEWS that he brought to this world over 2000 years ago. We believe in him, we believe in his word, in his father, our GOD as the maker and creator of the world who longs to redeem all of Creation and that through the power of the Holy Spirit we are made to reflect his glory in the world around us in how we LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, and SERVE OUR COMMUNITY.

We come together on Sunday mornings and it’s an important thing that we do each Sunday morning to worship God for who he is and what he as done. Congregational Worship time at Gilmer Church of Christ is a highlight of our week. It is the one time that we all, from the littlest to the oldest, gather together in the presence of God to offer Him all of our hearts, souls, minds, strength, and voice in worship. We worship Him for who He is and what He has done for us! We offer him our praise, our prayer, we share in communion together, and we spend time in His word together. And we do this so we can go back into God’s world to help make a difference for His sake and for the glory of his reign and rule in our hearts and lives.
